NEW BUILDS

All our boxes are built with the safety of horses and users in mind.
With us you will get a strong robust build with steel reinforcement in all the critical places, along with design features to make them as safe as possible for the horses. In addition to which we endeavour to make them user friendly for the humans.

The customer is involved at every stage of the process from choosing the spec of the donor vehicle to the design of the box.
All our boxes, whatever design is chosen, will incorporate a second emergency exit.

We are not interested in building cardboard boxes on wheels, so on a standard L3 (long wheel base) do not expect a payload in excess of 1.1 ton (although of course all these can be uprated to 3.9 ton gross).
On a L4 (extra-long wheelbase) the payload is more likely to be 900kg – 1 ton but the uprate on these can be a 4.5 ton gross if required.

Our standard build is robust and functional, and offers everything needed for safe horse transport which includes a steel reinforced bulkhead, steel side protection, and a steel ramp frame.
Choice of panels can be discussed with the customer and we can advise on strength and weights.

The standard build offers the following design features:

• Large horse dimensions in an inviting light and airy box

• Aluminium planked ramp for strength and longevity

• Choice of barn doors or canopy above the ramp

• Load guide gates

• Central partition can be half or three quarter height, with rubber skirt or solid to the floor, all have a telescopic arm allowing differing stall widths, or simply tacking up inside on a wet day

• There are four opening windows in the horse area plus viewing window to the cab

• The floor can be aluminium planked or sealed phenolic board over the steel base with the top layer rubber matted

• The breast partition can be formed from double jockey doors and a lift up breast bar to allow emergency exit or a single drop down bar

• The horse area can then be separated from the groom’s area by means of two full height doors

• Two tack lockers are included in the build price these can be two single or a double and a single externally or internally accessed

• Internal lighting to horse and groom’s area

For the safety minded, with lockers coming in under the horses’ heads, a detachable bridge can be fitted so that should the horse still attempt to climb on the breast partition/bar there is nowhere for feet to dangle and get stuck.

The groom’s area is smaller in the L3 than in the L4 but at 3.5 ton gross the L3 will offer the better payload. This area can have two high up small opening windows or one large in the back door. Seating with a little storage under will be on both sides with the two single locker design or on one side if a double locker is fitted.

The back door is wide to allow an emergency exit for the horse.

Paint colours are chosen by the customer, we use car paints for durability and these give a really smart finish and infinite choice.
Horse signage is included in the price
